LEGISLATION
The Mpumalanga Parks Board was established in terms of Act no. 6 of 1995, as amended with the purpose of ensuring effective nature conservation management in the Province. Coupled to this mandate, is the requirement to commercialize the MPB's operations as far as possible.
To this end, the MPB has adopted commercialization as a strategy to support its core business of conservation. This philosophy also extends to ensuring that Parks Board contributes positively to the socio-economic upliftment of communities that border our protected areas, as well as enhancing local business and SMME opportunities in the tourism industry.
