Our mission is to manage bio-diversity and eco-systems throughout
the Mpumalanga Province, for the socio-economic benefit of present and future generations.

Mandate
The Mpumalanga Parks Board was established in terms of the Mpumalanga
Parks Board Act (Act No. 6 of 1995) as amended, with the mandate of effective nature conservation management
in the Province,
and to as far as possible, commercialise its operations whilst ensuring the implementation of reconstruction
and development initiatives. 

The Mandate is further derived from:

• The Constitution of the Republic of South Africa
• National legislation
• National policy
• Provincial legislation
• Provincial policy
• Directives from Provincial Government
• International Treaties
